Two Suicide Bombers Still Loose After Maiduguri Attacks

In Maiduguri, Borno State, Governor Prof. Babagana Zulum has issued a warning to residents regarding two suicide bombers still on the loose after a series of bombings that occurred on Monday evening.

The attacks, attributed to suspected Boko Haram militants, resulted in at least 23 fatalities and approximately 100 injuries. The bombings targeted three locations simultaneously: a Nigerian Army post, the post office, and the area around the University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital.

These explosions coincided with the time Muslims were breaking their fast during Ramadan. Governor Zulum reported that five suicide bombers had infiltrated Maiduguri, with three already having detonated their devices.

He assured that security forces are actively pursuing the remaining two bombers, emphasizing a commitment to preventing further attacks. Zulum expressed his sadness upon hearing the news of the bombings while returning from a trip to Saudi Arabia, where he had met with military security chiefs to discuss the situation.
