Kano's Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf Drives Housing Development

Under the leadership of Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, Kano State is experiencing a transformative Housing Development Agenda, spearheaded by the Ministry of Housing Development. The administration is currently overseeing the construction of over 5,000 housing units across all 36 Local Government Areas, part of a broader initiative involving 22 key housing projects.

This program is generating more than 10,000 direct and indirect jobs and has introduced over 100 kilometers of new roads in newly developed housing layouts. The agenda emphasizes two main commitments: Affordable Housing for All, which includes mass housing schemes and support for vulnerable groups, and the rehabilitation of existing state housing estates.

Infrastructure Integration ensures that roads, water, and electricity accompany new housing developments, while a Security & Safe Communities initiative aims to enhance safety in these areas. The portfolio also includes new facilities for the judiciary and improvements at Malam Aminu Kano International Airport, showcasing a comprehensive approach to urban development.
