Katsina Governor Commends Security Forces for Hostage Rescue

On Saturday, Katsina State Governor Alhaji Dikko Umar Radda praised the Department of State Services (DSS), Nigerian Army, and Nigeria Police Force for their successful rescue of 21 hostages, comprising 19 Christians and 2 Muslims, from kidnappers in the state. The operation took place in the Dargaza Hill area of Danmusa Local Government, where the security agencies, alongside members of the state community watch corps, arrested four suspects who are currently undergoing investigation.

The rescued victims included 16 women, 2 men, and 3 babies, highlighting the indiscriminate nature of the banditry in the region. Governor Radda reaffirmed the state government's commitment to protecting citizens regardless of their religion and emphasized the ongoing efforts to combat banditry, particularly targeting the notorious bandit leader Kamilu Chiroma.

He assured citizens that the arrested suspects would face the full weight of the law upon completion of investigations.
