Governor Makinde Rewards Nigeria U20 with ₦22 Million After Victory in FIFA Qualifier

Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State rewarded the Nigeria U20 women's team with over ₦22 million after their victory against Rwanda in the 2026 FIFA qualifier. The Falconets secured a 4-0 win at the Lekan Salami Stadium in Ibadan, with goals from Precious Oscar, Fatima Adeshina, and Alaba Olabiyi.

The team's captain, Joy Igbokwe, received the donation on behalf of the team. The win secured their spot in the third round to face either Senegal or Algeria.

The Governor praised the team for their performance and motivation, showing support for women's football in Nigeria.
