Governor Soludo Praises Awka Leaders for Security Efforts

During a solidarity visit to traditional ruler Obi Gibson Nwosu as part of the annual Imoka cultural festival, Governor Soludo praised community leaders for their commitment to security in Awka, Anambra State. This visit marked a historic moment as Soludo became the first sitting governor of Anambra to officiate a homage to the Awka monarch during this traditional celebration.

He declared that peace has returned to Awka and commended the residents for their support in maintaining stability in the capital city. Soludo particularly acknowledged the efforts of Fred Chinwuba, the president general of the Awka Town Union, for ensuring the festival proceeded without security breaches.

He announced plans to construct a grand central palace in Awka, which he described as a symbol of unity and cultural heritage for future generations. Soludo stressed the importance of unity in the community, noting that divisive traditional leadership contradicts Igbo cultural values and religious tolerance.

He reaffirmed his administration's commitment to protecting freedom of worship and promoting peaceful coexistence among different faiths.
