Soludo Calls for Church Collaboration Against Insecurity

During the annual Knights Day celebration at St. Patrick's Cathedral in Awka, Anambra Governor Charles Soludo called for collaboration between the church and government to address insecurity. He emphasized the importance of courageous leadership in rebuilding society and tackling necessary reforms.

Soludo highlighted the Catholic Church's role in promoting principled leadership amid social and economic pressures. He reiterated the enforcement of Anambra State's burial law aimed at curbing extravagant funeral expenses that burden families.

The governor also announced an intensified crackdown on fraudulent religious leaders exploiting residents through deceptive spiritual practices, warning that the state would not tolerate activities that prey on vulnerable citizens. Additionally, he urged members of the Catholic Knights to uphold justice and support the vulnerable, aligning with ethical principles rather than social status.

The event drew significant participation from the Catholic faith across the diocese, underscoring the growing role of faith-based institutions in addressing social reform and security challenges in Southeastern Nigeria.
