Oyo Guber Aspirant Supports Local Government Autonomy, Criticizes State Administration

Oloye Saheed Oladele, an Oyo State governorship aspirant, defended President Bola Tinubu's commitment to improving the nation's economy, attributing the lack of support for local government autonomy by governors as the hindrance to progress, not Tinubu. Oladele accused the current Oyo State administration of stifling grassroots development by withholding statutory allocations meant for local governments.

He emphasized the importance of local government autonomy for equitable development across the 33 LGAs in Oyo State. Oladele pledged to prioritize local government autonomy and education if given the mandate to govern Oyo State in 2027, aiming to utilize constitutionally guaranteed funds for the betterment of local communities.
