Nigeria Launches Unified Government Service Portal

On Tuesday, the Federal Government unveiled the Government Service Portal, a digital platform intended to streamline access to government services for Nigerians and businesses. The soft launch took place in Abuja, organized by Galaxy Backbone in collaboration with the Federal Ministry of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy and the Korea International Cooperation Agency.

Prof Ibrahim Adeyanju, Managing Director and CEO of Galaxy Backbone, stated that the portal aims to resolve the issue of citizens navigating multiple websites and offices for public services. He emphasized that the initiative is part of President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, focusing on improving public service delivery and fostering economic growth through technology.

The portal is a key element of Nigeria’s Digital Public Infrastructure initiative, designed to integrate existing digital identity, payment, and data exchange systems. The launch allows government agencies to onboard services and gather user feedback before a broader rollout.

Adeyanju noted that the portal's success will be measured by user experience and trust in government services.
