Green Energy and Lekoil to Resolve Contractual Dispute

Green Energy and Lekoil are engaged in a legal dispute concerning a Turkish drilling agreement dated September 1, 2024. They have filed an application with the Federal High Court to strike out suit number FHC/L/CP/237/2026 and vacate an ex parte interim order granted on February 13, 2026.

The companies argue that the matter should be resolved through arbitration, as stipulated in the agreement, and that arbitration proceedings have already commenced at the Lagos Chamber of Commerce International Arbitration Centre. They maintain that the Federal High Court lacks jurisdiction over the case and seek to dismiss the ongoing action.

Green Energy and Lekoil emphasize that they are committed to complying with regulatory obligations and ensuring that operations at the Otakikpo Marginal Field (PML 11) remain uninterrupted. They reserve the right to pursue legal remedies to protect their interests and address any defamatory public statements regarding the dispute.
