GreenPlinth Africa Partners with Benue for Cookstoves

GreenPlinth Africa has signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with Benue State to deliver two million clean energy cookstoves to households in the state. The signing took place during the Green Conference 2026 in Lagos.

This initiative is part of GreenPlinth Africa's campaign to reduce carbon emissions. The MOA is a binding document that commits both parties to execute the agreement.

Benue State will be the first in Nigeria to benefit from carbon credits, which will provide the state with two million clean cookstoves aimed at reducing its carbon footprint. Each beneficiary will receive N10,000 monthly and 40 kilograms of briquettes, along with access to the national health insurance scheme.

Dr. Daniel Mailumo, Director General of the Benue State Council on Climate Change, emphasized that this agreement will support rural women who rely on firewood for cooking, transitioning them to clean cookstoves that produce zero or low emissions.
