CND Accuses Atiku of Undermining Northern Interests

The Congress of Northern Democrats (CND), led by Chairman Musa Adamu, has accused former Vice President Atiku Abubakar of undermining the opposition and betraying the interests of the northern region of Nigeria. In a statement, the group expressed disappointment regarding Atiku's preparation for his seventh presidential attempt ahead of the 2027 general elections.

They emphasized that the current challenges facing Nigeria, such as hunger, insecurity, inflation, and unemployment, require a united opposition around a credible rescue agenda rather than endless political calculations. The CND criticized Atiku's continuous pursuit of power since 1993, questioning the benefits of his ambitions for the northern populace.

They lamented that the opposition remains fragmented and directionless, which they believe contributes to the suffering of ordinary Nigerians. The CND called for a rejection of self-serving political ambitions and urged for a focus on collective progress and visionary leadership to address the pressing crises in the region.
