Galadima Urges Atiku to Join NDC for Opposition Unity

Buba Galadima, a chieftain of the Nigerian Democratic Congress (NDC), called on former Vice President Atiku Abubakar to join the NDC, warning that he would be held responsible for any failure of the opposition to unite ahead of the 2027 general elections. Galadima made this appeal during a political program on Monday, emphasizing the need for major opposition figures to rally together to build a formidable coalition against the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

He noted that the recent migrations of Peter Obi and Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso to the NDC were steps towards uniting the opposition to unseat the current government. Galadima stated that if Atiku refuses to join the NDC, it would weaken efforts to consolidate the opposition bloc.

He also mentioned that the African Democratic Congress (ADC) must agree to unite with the NDC to effectively challenge the ruling government. This appeal comes amid ongoing political realignments as the 2027 elections approach.
