Integrity Youth Alliance Denies Cash-for-Rank Claims Against Egbetokun

The Integrity Youth Alliance (IYA) has publicly condemned allegations made by an online medium regarding a supposed 'cash-for-rank' scheme within the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) leadership, specifically targeting former Inspector General of Police (IGP) Kayode Egbetokun. In a statement issued by the group's public secretary, Danjuma Lamido, the alliance described the report as entirely false and malicious, emphasizing that it lacked verifiable facts and relied heavily on anonymous sources.

The IYA categorically rejected the claims of a cash rank practice, asserting that there is no evidence to support the allegations of bribery or corruption under Egbetokun's leadership. They highlighted that promotions within the NPF are strictly based on merit and that there are no records of junior officers paying large sums of money for advancement.

The alliance reaffirmed Egbetokun's commitment to professionalism and transparency during his tenure, urging the public to disregard the false narrative and remain vigilant against misinformation aimed at undermining credible leadership.
