Group Rejects Nigerian Army's Rescue Claim of Worshippers

A group, represented by J.D. Ariko and Manasseh Samuel, has publicly dismissed the Nigerian Army's claim regarding the rescue of 31 worshippers abducted during an Easter service in the Ariko Community of Kachia Local Government Area, Kaduna State.

The army had reported that their troops successfully rescued the victims after a fierce firefight with bandits who had attacked the community, resulting in the death of six individuals and the abduction of 36 others. However, the group described the army's assertion as entirely false and misleading, emphasizing that they have maintained contact with the bandits who confirmed that the victims are still in captivity.

They criticized the army for disseminating inaccurate information, which they believe creates unnecessary confusion and gives false hope to the families of the victims. The group urged the Nigerian Army and relevant authorities to ensure the release of factual information, particularly concerning sensitive matters involving human lives, and called for intensified efforts towards the unconditional release of the abducted individuals.
