Democracy Watch Initiative Urges El-Rufai to Face Charges

The Democracy Watch Initiative has called on former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai to confront the serious allegations against him rather than distract Nigerians with diversionary tactics. The group expressed concern over El-Rufai's admission of breaching communication lines as advised by the National Security Adviser (NSA), which they described as a violation of established national security protocols.

Dr. Tunji Bamidel, the Director of Strategic Communications for the group, emphasized that El-Rufai is currently under investigation by multiple anti-graft and security agencies, including the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and the Department of State Services (DSS).

The initiative insists that no individual is above the law, regardless of political status, and calls for a thorough investigation to ensure justice and uphold the rule of law. They stress that the safety of citizens depends on confronting challenges without succumbing to political gamesmanship and urge the public to remain vigilant and engaged in democratic processes.
