Guardiola's Regret: Not Giving Hart a Chance at City

Pep Guardiola, the manager of Manchester City, revealed that his biggest regret during his time at the club was the decision to ignore Joe Hart's plea to remain as the team's goalkeeper. Guardiola made this statement in an interview with Sky Sports, reflecting on his tenure as he prepares for his final match against Aston Villa.

He noted that shortly after his appointment in 2016, he sent Hart on loan to Torino and signed Claudio Bravo, followed by Ederson the next season. Guardiola acknowledged that Hart was a regular for England at the time and expressed a desire to have given him a chance to demonstrate his abilities.

He admitted that his decision was perhaps too stubborn and that he learned from the experience, stating, "Sometimes decisions are not fair enough." Guardiola's comments come as he concludes a successful decade at Manchester City, where he won 20 trophies, including six Premier League titles and the club's first Champions League crown.
