Community Appeals to Gov. Soludo on Gully Erosion Crisis

Community leaders in Onitsha, including Chief Onyebuchi Ndulu, have formally requested the intervention of Anambra State Governor Prof. Charles Soludo to address the critical issue of gully erosion affecting the Nkisi Layout.

During a recent inspection of flood and erosion-prone areas, Chief Ndulu highlighted the environmental disaster posed by the erosion, which threatens both lives and properties. He criticized the current infrastructure and called for immediate government action to prevent further destruction within the residential estate.

Chief Ndulu expressed appreciation for the Soludo administration's responsiveness to community concerns and assured that residents would cooperate with relevant government agencies to protect drainage channels and comply with approved physical planning regulations. The community has already established a waste management system and encourages sustainable sanitation practices to mitigate erosion and flooding.

Chief Ndulu emphasized the need for collective responsibility in tackling environmental challenges and maintaining a sustainable environment.
