Gunmen Kidnap Local Government Chairman in Delta State

On Friday night, gunmen abducted the local government chairman in Delta while he was at a hotel along Owumi Road in Sapel. The assailants, described as eight armed men, arrived in a Range Rover SUV and another vehicle.

They fired shots into the air to disperse hotel guests and forcibly took the chairman away. During the operation, a local vigilante member named Ufuoma was reportedly shot and rushed to the hospital for treatment.

Bright Edaf, a spokesperson for the Delta State Police Command, confirmed the incident and stated that police visited the scene. He also mentioned that measures are being put in place to ensure the chairman's release and that efforts are underway to arrest the suspects involved in the kidnapping.
