Gunmen Abduct LG Secretary and Another in Ondo State

On Monday morning, gunmen abducted Joseph Kayod, the secretary of Okeluju Local Council Development Area, and Esther Akinlolu at a poultry farm located along Kajola Road in Ilu Abo, Akur North Local Government Area, Ondo State. The Ondo State Police Command, through spokesperson DSP Abayomi Jimoh, confirmed the abduction, stating that three armed men, masked and suspected to be criminals, invaded the poultry farm and fired sporadically before whisking the victims away to an unknown destination.

Following the report, the police mobilized a tactical team to the area to commence search and rescue operations, intensifying security patrols to prevent further occurrences. The police command, led by Adebowale Lawal, is committed to ensuring the safety of lives and property, urging the public to remain calm and avoid spreading unverified information that could cause unnecessary panic.

The incident has raised concerns among residents, particularly parents, leading to the temporary closure of schools in the area.
