Gunmen Kill Farmer in Ondo State Attack, Police Confirm

On Monday night, approximately at 9:30 PM, gunmen attacked two farmers along Agunla Farm Road in Ayed Ogbes, Akure North Local Government Area of Ondo State, leading to the murder of one farmer, Ben Daniel. The Ondo State Police Command, represented by DSP Abayomi Jimoh, confirmed the incident to newsmen.

Preliminary investigations revealed that Daniel was attacked while riding a motorcycle with Jame Unekwu, who managed to escape the assailants. Following the attack, police promptly mobilized to the scene, where they evacuated Daniel's body and deposited it at the mortuary for autopsy.

Tensions in the community have risen, prompting police to urge residents to remain calm and avoid actions that could disrupt public peace. The police assured that due process would be followed to ensure justice for the victim, and they encouraged community members to continue law enforcement activities without fear.
