Woman Abducted by Gunmen at Benin City Market

A woman was reportedly abducted by gunmen at a popular vegetable market off Airport Road in Benin City, Edo State. The incident occurred on a Sunday while the woman was at the market with her children and husband.

Eyewitnesses shared a video online, and the woman described the stress of the kidnapping, noting it was her first experience with such an incident. Edo State Police Public Relations Officer, Ikoedem, confirmed awareness of the abduction and stated that investigations were already underway.

The police are in contact with the woman's family, who have reportedly received ransom demands from the abductors. Ikoedem could not disclose further information regarding the ongoing investigation but assured that updates would be provided at an appropriate time.
