Edo Police Arrest Four in Benin Market Kidnap Case

The Edo State Police Command arrested four suspects and killed one in connection with a kidnapping incident that occurred at the Veget Market off Airport Road in Benin City on June 14, 2026. The arrests were made following a directive from the Commissioner of Police, Edo State Command, on June 20, 2026.

The operation was led by Marvel Isaac, a 32-year-old male, who was involved in a gun duel with the police. During the operation, the police recovered a Lexus RX 350 SUV, a pump-action shotgun, two live cartridges, and a cash sum of 2,050,000 Naira.

Additionally, Gift Raphael, a 27-year-old female, was arrested, leading to further arrests of Wisdom Michael and Rufu Michael. The suspects confessed to their involvement in the kidnapping operation.
