Gunmen Kidnap Four Cocoa Farmers in Oyo State

On Wednesday, gunmen kidnapped four cocoa farmers in the Idi Ayunr area of Ibadan, Oyo State. The incident occurred when the assailants intercepted the victims' vehicle near the Cocoa Research Institute of Nigeria.

DSP Ayanlad Olayinka, the Oyo State Police Public Relations Officer, confirmed the kidnapping via a text message sent to NAN. Following the incident, the police launched an operation led by Mr.

Femi Haruna, the State Commissioner of Police, directing the anti-kidnap unit and tactical teams to conduct an intensive bush combing operation. The police successfully rescued the four kidnapped victims and recovered the vehicle used in the abduction.

The rescued individuals are currently in safe custody and undergoing debriefing, while efforts continue to arrest the perpetrators.
