Gunmen Kill Nine Passengers in Plateau Bus Attack

At approximately 9:40 p.m. on the night of the attack, gunmen opened fire on a commercial bus at Dungus Junction in Kuru community, located in the Jos South Local Government Area of Plateau State. The bus was en route to Jos when the attackers struck shortly after the driver, identified as Ibrahim, stopped to drop off some passengers.

The assault resulted in at least nine fatalities, with the bus left riddled with bullets and blood visible inside. Several other passengers sustained injuries and were subsequently taken to hospitals for treatment.

Lawan Suleiman, a teacher and neighbor of one of the victims, confirmed the attack and noted that three of the deceased were from Bukuru community. The bodies of the victims were deposited at a hospital as arrangements for their burial were made.

Rwang Tengwong, spokesman for the Berom Youth Moulders, also confirmed the incident, stating that a member of Operation Rainbow was among those killed. As of the time of reporting, the Plateau State Police Command had not issued an official statement regarding the attack.
