Gunmen Kill Son of Osun Accord Party Leader in Ikir

Kolad Eluyera, the son of the Osun Accord Party women leader, was killed by gunmen in Ikir, Osun State, on a Friday night near Onirek Mosque. Abiodun Ojelabi, the state police public relations officer, confirmed the recovery of Eluyera's lifeless body, which showed gunshot wounds.

The Osun Accord Party's campaign council, represented by Pelumi Olajengbesi, condemned the attack, alleging it was carried out by thugs linked to political violence. They highlighted previous complaints regarding security issues in the area, including reports of kidnappings and intimidation targeting party members.

The council called for an independent investigation by the Inspector General of Police, expressing frustration over the lack of visible preventive measures by law enforcement. The incident has raised serious legal and moral concerns among residents and political stakeholders in Osun State, with calls for accountability and a condemnation of the ongoing political violence.
