Gunmen Kill Pregnant Woman and Young Man in Plateau

On Friday night, gunmen attacked a community in Riyom, Plateau State, resulting in the deaths of two individuals: a 32-year-old pregnant woman, identified as Mr. Happi Pam, and a 24-year-old man, Daniel Luka.

The Berom Youth Moulder Association (BYM) condemned the killings, describing the attack as gruesome and unacceptable. In a statement issued on Saturday, signed by Mr.

Rwang Tengwong, the association expressed shock and sadness over the incident, highlighting the senseless violence that has plagued the region. They extended condolences to the families of the deceased and urged security agencies to intensify efforts to apprehend those responsible and ensure justice is served.

The BYM also called on the federal and Plateau State governments to implement proactive measures to protect vulnerable communities. Additionally, the association expressed concern over the reported abduction of two drivers along the Kassa axis in Barkin Ladi local government area, urging residents to remain vigilant and avoid late-night travel along vulnerable routes.
