Gunmen Kill Pregnant Woman and Youth in Plateau Attack

In a tragic incident on Friday at approximately 10 PM, gunmen attacked Dyan Community in Rim Village, Riyom Local Government Area, Plateau State, resulting in the deaths of two residents. The victims were identified as Mr.

Happi Pam, aged 32, and Daniel Luka, a 24-year-old pregnant woman. The Berom Youth Moulder Association (BYM) condemned the killings, describing the attack as gruesome and unacceptable.

In a statement issued on Saturday by the association's National Public Secretary, Mr. Rwang Tengwong, the group expressed shock and sorrow over the continuing insecurity in the Riyom area.

They lamented that the pregnant woman, who carried hope for her family, and the young man, who had a promising future, became victims of this senseless act of violence. The BYM extended condolences to the families of the deceased and called on security agencies to intensify efforts to arrest the perpetrators and ensure they are brought to justice.

They also urged the Plateau State government to take urgent steps to protect vulnerable communities.
