Gunmen Kill 25, Burn Homes in Adamawa State Attack

In a late-night attack on Tuesday, gunmen killed at least 25 residents and set homes ablaze in Kirchinga and Garaha, located in the Madagali Local Government Area of Adamawa State, northeastern Nigeria. The assailants, reportedly wearing military uniforms, deceived residents into believing they were troops on patrol.

The attack, which underscores the persistent insecurity in Nigeria's northeast, resulted in the recovery of 18 bodies. Witness Musa Isa narrowly escaped the assault, which involved dozens of gunmen on approximately 50 motorcycles.

During the attack, three soldiers were killed, and four residents were shot while attempting to flee. The Adamawa State governor condemned the incident as a cowardly act of terror and pledged not to allow terrorists to undermine efforts to restore peace and stability in the state, according to a statement from his spokesman, Humwashi Wonosik.
