Oyo State Teacher Killed in School Attack; Burial Held

The burial arrangements for Adesiyan Adegboy, a 49-year-old teacher killed during a coordinated attack on three schools in Oyo State, commenced on Friday at Ayegun Baptist Church, Ogbomoso. Adegboy was murdered when bandits invaded Baptist Nursery Primary School and Yawota Community Grammar School.

The attack occurred on a Friday, with the burial scheduled for later today. The deceased was born on December 11, 1976.

During the incident, seven students and several teachers were abducted, leading to widespread panic in the Ogbomoso community as parents rushed to withdraw their children from schools. The Inspector General of Police, Olatunji Disu, visited the scene on Saturday and deployed additional detective forces from the headquarters in Abuja to collaborate with a joint security team for ongoing rescue operations.

Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde confirmed the abductions and the murder, which triggered temporary school closures due to fears of further attacks.
