Gwarzo Visits Shettima to Strengthen APC Candidacy Ahead of Primaries

Abdullahi Tijjani Gwarzo, who recently declared his intention to contest for the Kano North senatorial seat, visited Vice President Kashim Shettima in Abuja on a Monday. He was accompanied by Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, the former national chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and current chairman of the House Committee on Appropriations, along with Abubakar Kabir Bichi.

Gwarzo's visit aimed to discuss political affairs and seek support for his candidacy ahead of the APC primaries scheduled for May 18. Gwarzo, a former Minister of State for Housing and Urban Development and ex-Deputy Governor of Kano, purchased the APC nomination form last month and has vowed to provide credible representation for his zone.

His entry into the race has heightened intra-party tensions, particularly with allegations against Senator Barau regarding attempts to orchestrate disqualifications in previous primaries. Gwarzo's visit is seen as an effort to consolidate support within the APC hierarchy and strengthen his position ahead of the primaries.
