Jigawa Pilgrims Fall Victim to Theft During Hajj

During the Hajj pilgrimage in Saudi Arabia, three pilgrims from Jigawa State reported theft incidents. Baba Katanga, an elderly Fulani pilgrim from Katanga Village in Kiyawa Local Government Area, lost $400 when a taxi driver allegedly took advantage of him while he inspected his Nusuk card.

The money was intended for use throughout his stay. Another Fulani pilgrim from Jahun Local Government Area, whose identity was not disclosed, also reported losing cash to a taxi driver.

Additionally, a female pilgrim known as Hajiya lost her handbag, which contained two mobile phones and cash meant to sustain her during the Hajj. This incident occurred at Miqat Madinah, where she briefly left her bag unattended.

Alhaji Ahmad Umar Labbo, the Director General of the Jigawa State Pilgrim Welfare Board, assured support for the affected pilgrims and advised all pilgrims to be vigilant and safeguard their valuables against criminal elements, especially in crowded areas.
