ADC Faction Demands Halt on Nomination Form Sales

Bala's faction of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) has requested the leadership, led by David Mark, to suspend the sale of nomination forms until a leadership suit is resolved in the Federal High Court in Abuja. The court has adjourned the matter indefinitely, following a previous interlocutory appeal that was dismissed by the Supreme Court on April 30, 2026.

Rufu Akanmi, representing the faction, warned that any purchases made during this period would be at the buyer's own risk, and the ADC would not accept liability for any consequences. The faction urged collaboration among party members to ensure credible candidates emerge for the upcoming general elections.

The leadership suit has faced setbacks, with the court awaiting administrative decisions regarding the case's transfer. The plaintiff's counsel, Luka Musa Haruna, indicated that a letter requesting the transfer had been sent to the Chief Judge of the Federal High Court, which was met with opposition from the defense team.
