Ortom Backs Tinubu's Re-election, Cites Performance

Samuel Ortom, the former Governor of Benue State, publicly declared his support for President Bola Tinubu's re-election in 2027, emphasizing that his endorsement is based on Tinubu's performance and the reforms implemented during his administration. During an interview on Channels Television’s Politics Today, Ortom questioned Nigerians about their awareness of Tinubu's achievements, specifically highlighting the removal of the petrol subsidy as a significant reform.

He stated, “Mr President came, and the first day in office, he removed it.” Ortom's support for Tinubu dates back to 2023 when Tinubu appointed former Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike as Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT). Ortom affirmed his support during Wike's reception in Port Harcourt.

Additionally, he expressed his backing for the PDP governorship candidate in Benue, Michael Aondoakaa, criticizing the current administration led by Hycinth Alia for being based on deceit and lies.
