APC Confirms Adeola Olamilekan as Ogun Governorship Candidate

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has officially declared Senator Adeola Olamilekan as its candidate for the 2027 Ogun State governorship election, dismissing Mr. Abayomi Hunye's claims to the party's ticket. APC National Secretary Senator Ajibola Basiru issued a statement in Abuja on Monday, labeling Hunye an "imposter" who is currently suspended from the party.

Basiru clarified that the party had concluded its primary election, nominating Adeola with Balogun Abiodun as his running mate, and that their details have been submitted to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). Hunye was suspended on April 7, 2026, due to allegations of anti-party activities and actions detrimental to the party's unity.

Basiru emphasized that Hunye lacks the legal and moral standing to represent the APC and warned against any political or financial dealings with him while he claims to be an APC candidate.
