Oyo APC Chieftain Accuses Rep of Assault During Meeting

Oyebad, an APC chieftain from Lagelu Local Government Area in Oyo State, has accused Rep. Olafisoy Akinmoyed of assault during a stakeholders' meeting held at the APC state secretariat in Ibadan on Monday.

Oyebad alleged that he was threatened with death and sustained injuries during the incident, which he claims has led to him receiving medical attention. The meeting was intended to address ongoing crises surrounding the conduct of recent local government congresses in Lagelu.

However, Oyebad stated that the situation escalated into violence due to the absence of political leaders. In response, Akinmoyed denied the allegations, insisting that no assault occurred and that the gathering was focused on resolving internal party disagreements.

A statement from Akinmoyed's legislative aide, Dr. Isiaq Akintund, supported this claim, emphasizing the peaceful nature of the meeting.
