Nigeria Police Force Mourns DCP Khan Salihu's Death

The Nigeria Police Force announced the death of Deputy Commissioner of Police Khan Salihu, who served as the officer in charge of financial administration at the Lagos State Police Command until his demise on June 15, 2026. In a statement signed by DCP Anthony Okon, the police described the loss as deeply painful, recalling Salihu's dedication, discipline, and significant contributions to enhancing the efficiency of the Lagos State Police Command.

Inspector General of Police Olatunji Rilwan Disu extended heartfelt condolences to Salihu's family and colleagues. The police emphasized that Salihu was not kidnapped at the time of his death, as he had briefly complained of feeling unwell before being rushed to the hospital, where he was sadly confirmed dead upon arrival.

The police condemned certain media outlets for circulating false reports alleging kidnapping, labeling them as reckless and misleading, and urged the public to disregard such misinformation.
