Nigeria's FG to Restock COVID-19 Vaccines Amid New Cases

Dr. Ibrahim Mustafa, the Permanent Secretary, confirmed that the Federal Government of Nigeria is actively working to replenish the stock of COVID-19 vaccines, which have been exhausted.

He emphasized the importance of maintaining vigilance against COVID-19, particularly in Lagos, a major economic hub. The recent confirmation of a new COVID-19 case in Cross River State, involving a 53-year-old Chinese national who arrived in Nigeria on March 17, underscores the need for continued adherence to infection control protocols.

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) confirmed the case and stated that the patient is in stable condition and being managed according to standard protocols. Dr.

Mustafa reiterated the importance of public awareness and strict adherence to infection control measures, including regular hand hygiene and the use of masks, to mitigate the risk of future outbreaks. He noted that Nigeria's high level of cross-border movement poses a significant risk for disease transmission.
