Armed Bandits Kill 16 Vigilantes, Kidnap 40 Residents in Mashegu Attacks

Heavily armed bandits carried out coordinated attacks in Mashegu, Nigeria, killing 16 vigilantes and kidnapping 40 residents. The attacks occurred between Sunday, November 9, and Thursday, November 13, leading to residents fleeing their homes.

The vigilantes were described as heroes by the local government chairman, Isah Ibrahim Bokuta. The abductors demanded a ransom of seventy million naira for the release of former chairman Alhaji Alhassan Bawa Niworo and Barrister Ahmad Moham.

Fear grips the area as residents search for safety.
