FCT Hospitals at Risk as Doctors Strike Over Unmet Demands

Hospitals in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) are facing shutdown as resident doctors have commenced an indefinite strike due to unmet demands. The Association of Resident Doctors FCT chapter announced the strike following a lack of government commitment to addressing issues such as the employment of 26 doctors, salary deductions, delayed promotions, and poor hospital facilities since 2023.

President George Ebong confirmed the strike action, emphasizing the need for the government to meet their demands for improved healthcare services. The strike began on Monday, September 15th, 2025, after unsuccessful dialogues with the authorities.
