House Committee to Aid NDPHC in Ikot Abasi Project Funding

The House of Representatives Committee on Public Assets, led by Chairman Hon. Ademorin Kuye, has committed to assisting the Niger Delta Power Holding Company (NDPHC) in resolving funding constraints and community issues that are hindering the completion of the 330kV double circuit Ikot Ekpene–Ikot Abasi transmission line project.

This commitment was made after an oversight visit to the project site, where the committee inspected the work completed and engaged with NDPHC officials, the Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) contractor, Anita Energy, and community leaders. Kuye emphasized the importance of the project for electricity supply and economic development, noting that both NDPHC and the contractor are willing to proceed once funding and community-related challenges are addressed.

He praised the host communities for safeguarding project materials during the work suspension. The committee aims to ensure that public investments in critical infrastructure projects are not wasted.
