Housing Minister Threatens Contract Revocation in Katsina

Mr. Muttaqha Rabe Darma, the Housing Minister, has issued a warning regarding the potential revocation of a housing project contract in Katsina.

The contractor has failed to comply with the terms and conditions of the contract, particularly concerning the completion timeline. The project, which involves the construction of 250 housing units, was awarded by the Federal Government under former Minister Ahm Dangiwa, with a stipulated completion period of six months.

However, after more than six months, only 130 units have been completed, leaving 120 units unfinished. Darma expressed dissatisfaction with the contractor's pace of work and noted that the project has exceeded the completion period without an official extension from the Federal Government.

He emphasized that the contractor must adhere to the contractual agreement and complete the project within the agreed timeframe. The Minister has directed officials to compile a comprehensive report on the contract's status, detailing the contractor's performance and compliance with the terms.
