Housing Minister Warns Contractors Over Project Delays

Engr. Muttaqha Rabe Darma, the Minister of Housing and Urban Development, issued a warning regarding the potential revocation of contracts for a housing project in Katsina.

The project, awarded to contractors by the Federal Government under former Minister Ahm Dangiwa, involves the construction of 250 housing units. Darma expressed dissatisfaction with the pace of work, noting that only 130 units have been completed, leaving 120 units unfinished.

The project was originally scheduled for completion within six months, but it has now exceeded this timeline by over half a year without any official extension sought by the contractors. Darma emphasized that the contractors must adhere to the terms of the contract and complete the project within the agreed timeframe.

He directed ministry officials to compile a comprehensive report detailing the contract terms and the level of completion at the project site.
