Nigerian Housing Ministry and ICPC Collaborate to Track Constituency Projects Nationwide

The Nigerian Housing Ministry and the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offenses Commission (ICPC) have commenced a joint verification and tracking exercise for constituency and zonal intervention projects across the country. The initiative, flagged off in Kano, involves spot inspections to assess project status and quality.

The Housing Ministry's Special Project Unit oversees federal government projects, while the ICPC ensures compliance with budget implementation and public expenditure regulations. Dr.

Shuaib Belgore emphasized the exercise's goal of evaluating project impact and ensuring standard execution for the people's benefit. Bello Bakori from the ICPC highlighted the joint effort's aim to prevent corruption, promote transparency, and translate public funds into tangible development outcomes.

The exercise documented various projects, including the installation of solar streetlights and construction of sports facilities and roads in different local government areas.
