ICPC Tracks N16.3bn Constituency Projects in Kogi State

The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) has commenced tracking 72 constituency projects worth N16.3 billion across three senatorial districts in Kogi State. Wale David, the commission's spokesperson, disclosed this initiative on Saturday in Lokoja, Kogi State's capital.

The exercise aims to ensure that the projects are executed in accordance with due process and deliver tangible benefits to the residents. The ICPC will investigate any abandoned projects and those allegedly executed below standard, holding contractors accountable for substandard work and compelling them to return to the site to rectify identified defects.

The monitoring exercise includes an assessment of the N6.2 billion Federal Secretariat Complex project and the N6.4 billion Inland River Port project, extending to 21 local government areas in Kogi State. This initiative is part of the ICPC's efforts to strengthen transparency and accountability in public procurement, ensuring that the residents of Kogi State benefit from federal fund projects.
