ICPC and Housing Ministry Inspect Constituency Projects in Northwest Nigeria, Warn Defaulting Contractors

The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) and the Housing Ministry have jointly flagged off an inspection of constituency projects in Nigeria's northwest zone on January 28, 2026. The aim is to ensure that federal projects are delivered according to approved specifications, with transparency and value for money for the Nigerian people.

Dr. Shuaib Belgor, representing the Director of the Special Project Unit, and Olatunde Ajayi issued stern warnings to contractors, emphasizing a zero-tolerance policy for substandard work or project abandonment.

The Housing Ministry will not hesitate to demand refunds from contractors whose projects fail to meet contractual obligations. The inspection team visited key sites including sports facilities like mini stadiums and indoor sports centers in Gwarzo town.

ICPC identified minor technical lapses but commended the overall standard of construction. Bello Idri Bakori explained ICPC's proactive role in preventing corruption and ensuring compliance with laws to safeguard public interest.
