Police Rescue Adebayo Adelabu's Family from Kidnappers

On June 3, 2026, the Nigeria Police Force successfully rescued the sister and twin sons of former Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu, during a tactical operation in Oyo State. The victims, Olaid Busayo Adegok and his 12-year-old twin sons, John Paul and Peter Paul, were abducted while being dropped off at school.

The police, acting on intelligence, confronted the kidnappers around 7:30 PM, leading to an exchange of gunfire. Two suspects were fatally wounded during the operation, and two firearms were recovered from the scene.

The victims were rescued unharmed and are currently receiving medical evaluation. Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde visited Adebayo Adelabu to offer reassurance and pledged the state's full support for security efforts.

This incident follows a recent mass abduction involving 40 students and teachers in the Oriir local government area of Oyo State.
