Oyo Police Rescue Kidnapped Twins, Neutralize Suspects

On June 6, 2026, the Oyo State Police Command conducted a successful operation to rescue Mr. Adegok's sister and his 12-year-old twin sons, Peter and Paul, who had been kidnapped on June 3, 2026.

The operation, led by Inspector General of Police Olatunji Rilwan Disu, involved the Force Intelligence Response Team and tactical units. The police stormed the identified hideout in Ayegun, Ibadan, where they engaged in a gun duel with gang members, resulting in the neutralization of one suspect, Kelechi, and the arrest of four others, including the alleged ring leaders Wale Abolalewa, also known as Oloro, and Dare Oyedel, known as Solut.

The police recovered three pump-action guns, an unregistered Toyota Corolla used in the abduction, and other items. Preliminary investigations revealed that the gang had attempted to recruit insiders from the victim's household and had monitored the family's movements prior to the kidnapping.
