Abbo Claims Betrayal Behind ADC Leadership Crisis
• Naijanews • Politics
Senator Ishaku Abbo, representing Adamawa North, has stated that the leadership crisis within the African Democratic Congress (ADC) is a result of internal betrayal and external interference. He announced that he no longer recognizes the faction led by Nafiu Bala, citing a court appeal judgment related to ongoing litigation. Abbo expressed that the crisis began when Bala, a member of the party's national working committee, failed to step down to allow for a new leadership structure to emerge. According to Abbo, there was an agreement to allocate party positions across geopolitical zones, which Bala did not honor. Abbo also mentioned that prominent political figures, including a former governor and a former minister, support legal action against the party. He urged Bala to withdraw the case from court and work towards unity, warning that the ongoing situation could have broader consequences if not resolved.
