Leadership Crisis in ADC: Bala Remains Chair, Claims Abejide

Nafiu Bala has been affirmed by Abejide as the legitimate chair of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), countering claims of his resignation circulating within the party. During a protest in Abuja, Bala's faction demanded that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) formally recognize him as the authentic leader.

Abejide urged the INEC to acknowledge Bala's position, asserting that he remains a member of the party's national executive committee. The protest, which occurred on Thursday, followed a rival demonstration by supporters of David Mark, highlighting the deepening leadership crisis within the ADC.

Prominent political figures, including Atiku Abubakar, Peter Obi, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, and David Mark, were warned against attempts to interfere in the party's internal affairs. This situation underscores the ongoing turmoil within the ADC as factions vie for control and legitimacy.
