ADC Crisis: Abejide Confirms Bala's Leadership Status

Leke Abejide, a member of the House of Representatives, emphasized that Nafiu Bala remains the authentic national chairman of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) and has not resigned, contrary to claims made by some party members. Abejide made these remarks while speaking to journalists during a protest organized by Bala's faction in Abuja on Thursday.

He urged the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to recognize Bala as the official chairman, asserting that the party's national executive committee (NEC) has not accepted any resignation. The protest began early on Thursday in support of Bala's faction, which accused prominent political figures, including former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and others, of attempting to hijack the party.

This demonstration followed a similar protest led by David Mark's faction at the INEC office on Wednesday, which included notable politicians such as Peter Obi and Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso.
